DeMarvion Overshown, Rico Dowdle carry the Cowboys to 27-20 win over Giants

Cowboys' Defense and Running Game Spark Thanksgiving Day Win

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off a thrilling 27-20 victory over the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day, thanks in large part to a dominant defensive performance and a breakout game from running back Rico Dowdle.

The Cowboys' defense was relentless, harassing Giants quarterback Drew Lock all game long. The defensive line generated constant pressure, sacking Lock six times and forcing two turnovers. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was the star of the show, returning an interception 23 yards for a touchdown and recovering a fumble forced by Eric Kendricks.

With Tony Pollard sidelined due to injury, Rico Dowdle stepped up and delivered a career-best performance. The undrafted running back rushed for 112 yards on 22 carries, including a 1-yard touchdown run. Dowdle's ability to break tackles and gain tough yards was crucial in keeping the Cowboys' offense moving.

Backup quarterback Cooper Rush continued to perform admirably in place of the injured Dak Prescott. While he didn't have a spectacular game, he managed the offense efficiently and made key throws when needed. Rush completed 21 of 36 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown.
Giants' Offensive Struggles

The Giants' offense struggled to gain momentum throughout the game. Lock, making his first start of the season, was inconsistent and turned the ball over twice. The Giants' offensive line was unable to provide adequate protection, and the running game was ineffective.
This victory was a much-needed boost for the Cowboys, who had lost their previous six home games. The win keeps their playoff hopes alive, although they still face a challenging road ahead.

* The Cowboys' defense played a dominant role in the victory.
* Rico Dowdle's breakout performance was a significant factor.
* Cooper Rush continues to fill in admirably for Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys will look to build on this momentum as they continue their season. With a strong defensive performance and a solid running game, they have a chance to make a playoff push.
